How to Use Aster: Wallet, Spot and Perps

A safer first-trade workflow: connect a dedicated wallet, make a small collateral deposit, learn the trading modes, test a low-leverage order and verify withdrawals before scaling.

Before You Start: Use a Separate Trading Wallet

Aster is a wallet-based exchange with crypto, spot and perpetual markets. Use a dedicated hot wallet rather than the wallet that holds your long-term assets. Verify the live app URL before connecting, and do not sign a request you do not understand.

Step 1: Connect a Compatible Wallet

Open Aster's official app and connect a self-custody wallet. The platform can support multiple network routes, but supported assets and deposit paths can change. Select the wallet and network shown in the current app instead of relying on an old screenshot or third-party instruction.

For a first setup, avoid unnecessary bridges. Use a chain and stablecoin route you already know, then confirm the receiving address and network in the app.

Step 2: Deposit a Small Amount of Collateral

Aster's live interface will show eligible collateral and networks. Deposit a small test amount first, wait for it to appear, then check your available balance before placing a trade. Sending an asset on the wrong network can be difficult or impossible to recover.

Do not treat a successful wallet connection as a reason to deposit heavily. Test the deposit, a small order and a small withdrawal as separate steps.

Step 3: Choose the Right Trading Mode

ModeBest starting useRisk to understand
SpotDirect exposure without liquidation mechanics.Price risk still applies; check asset and network details.
Pro perpsA small, low-leverage test trade with order controls.Funding, margin, liquidation, fees and slippage.
1001xNot a beginner starting point.Extremely small adverse moves can liquidate the margin.

The sensible sequence is spot or a minimal low-leverage Pro order first. The 1001x leverage mode is a specialist, high-risk feature—not a shortcut to learning market mechanics.

Step 4: Place a Small Perpetual Test Order

Choose a liquid market, select low leverage, and inspect the order ticket before confirming. Check the order type, position size, estimated liquidation price, fees and funding. After the order is filled, close it manually to learn the complete open-and-close path.

Step 5: Review Fees, Rewards and Your Exit Route

Fee schedules, discounts, rewards and market availability can change. Check the current Aster interface before trading and never let a reward program determine position size. Once your test order is complete, make a small withdrawal to confirm you understand the exit path as well as the deposit path.

Best Beginner Setup

Use a separate wallet, deposit a small test amount, start with Spot or low-leverage Pro, inspect all fees and liquidation data, and verify a small withdrawal. Consider advanced leverage only after the standard workflow is routine.

Aster Setup FAQ

Does Aster require KYC to start trading?
Aster uses a wallet-based flow rather than a conventional email and document-upload account process. Availability can still be restricted by jurisdiction, so users must check the live app rules and comply with local law.
Which wallet and chain should I use for Aster?
Use a self-custody wallet compatible with the chain and asset you intend to deposit, then follow the current deposit route shown by the Aster app. Start with the chain and collateral you already understand rather than bridging a large amount for a first trade.
Should a beginner use Aster 1001x mode?
No. Beginners should start with Spot or a small low-leverage Pro trade. 1001x mode leaves almost no room for normal price movement, fees or slippage and can liquidate very quickly.
What should I check before my first Aster perpetual trade?
Check the selected market, collateral, order type, leverage, estimated liquidation price, fees and funding. Make a small test order and test a withdrawal before increasing capital.
